January 14, 2010 10:20 AM- Beaded jewelry has been trendy fashion jewelry since a long time. However, it seems that it has gained prime importance during recent times when it is seen all over- in all events. Whether it is a fashion show, jewellery exhibition or unveiling of new jewelry collection- beads can be seen used in usual and innovative ways. At least, latest news on jewelery indicate towards beads even getting preference over gold (it should not be surprising taking the sky rocketing cost of gold and gold jewellery). Welsh jewellery company, Clogau Gold of the UK, is about to unveil a new collection aimed at fashion-conscious consumers during the upcoming Spring Fair International 2010, which is being held from 7-11 February in Birmingham, UK. This company is famous for using rare Welsh gold from the same mine that extracted gold used in the British Royal family’s wedding rings since 1923. It is going to showcase its new Milestones beaded charms collection during this fair.
In USA, the celebrity designer, Korto Momolu, will debut the Fall 2010 Collection- a contemporary female apparel and accessories line during New York City Fashion Week at the Union Square Ballroom on February 15, 2010. Momolu has opted for a collection of serene designs that reflect her lifestyle, cultural and design background. Detailed beading is one of the characteristic feature of her fall 2010 collection along with eclectic blend of rich fabrics and infusion of northern African influences. In India too, the recently held Chennai Jewellery Show saw low interest in gold. In fact, people there favored small jewellery items such as a one, two or three-gram platinum ring with a single
diamond bead studded in it. Rubies, emeralds and platinum jewelry were also liked at the show.
