Zircon Beads |
Zircon is often been mistaken for a diamond, especially colorless
ones. It has a very fine resemblance with diamond in luster and fire. Zircon
beads are created from a mineral yielding gemstone called "cubic
zircons". It is used as a refractory when opaque and as a gem when
transparent. It belongs to the nesosilicates group of minerals. This stone
is uncommon but very much in demand. A zircon has a tetragonal structure
where the prism is terminated with four sided pyramids at each end. An eight
sided pyramid may also be there. They range from simple crystal to a complex
faceted forms.
